Ottawa police are seeking public assistance to track down suspects in a Sept. 15 robbery at clothing store in the south end.

Police said a man entered the store around Bank and Alta Vista at about 6 p.m. asking for food and water. He didn’t appear threatening and was seated and given some food, when he noticed a cash transaction going on.

He then warned that he had a knife, grabbed the unspecified amount of cash, then calmly walked out.

There were no injuries.

A witness said the suspect conferred with a second man outside the store. The second man’s involvement is not clear and he is described as a person of interest.

The suspect is described as black, in his 60s, with a greyish beard, and long dreadlocks covered with a cap.

The person of interest is also described as being black, bald, with a heavier build.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Ottawa police robbery unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5116. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by downloading the Ottawa police app.
