There were no injuries when a small plane made an emergency landing in the city’s west end Tuesday afternoon.

Ottawa Fire Services said the forced landing happened near the intersection Carling Avenue and Rifle Road. They were first called to the area of Allbrich and Constance Bay roads for a small aircraft in distress after a mayday call was received by the airport.

City police said the landing happened on Shirley Boulevard at Rifle Road and that while the plane was badly damaged the four passengers were unhurt. Fire services initially reported there was only one occupant.

More to come.
