A teenage pedestrian was taken to Gatineau hospital with a concussion and a broken leg after he was struck by a vehicle Friday night.
According to Gatineau police, the 15-year-old was a passenger on a bus travelling west on Laverendrye Boulevard West. When he got off the bus at a stop near Gatineau Avenue at about 8 p.m., he darted across Laverendrye, passing in front of the bus instead of walking to the nearest intersection to cross. He was hit by a vehicle that was also driving west on Laverendrye.
In addition to the injuries he suffered, he was given a ticket for crossing the street unlawfully.
