Electric vehicle operators will have a new spot to charge up while they shop with the opening of a new charging centre in the CF Rideau Centre parking lot.
The charging station is part of a national program by property owners Cadillac Fairview.
The Rideau Centre project, in partnership with charging station specialists FLO, will include 20 superchargers for Tesla vehicle owners, two “Level 2” chargers and one universal fast charger. The latter two units are compatible with all models of fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
The Tesla superchargers are available now in the P3 parking garage, while the Level 2 and universal chargers are in the parking lot by entrance 8 which is now a construction zone. The units should be accessible in a couple of weeks.
Costs will vary and will be in addition to regular parking rates.
