What’s Happening Ottawa provides the latest on theatre, music and outings for the entire family. Some shows sell out quickly, so be sure to look ahead at what’s happening in the coming weeks and get your tickets early.
Here are four ways you can enjoy winter at City facilities this week:
Outdoor play
Where: Citywide
When: Every day
Just because it’s winter is no reason to stay inside. The Lansdowne Park Skating Court, the Sens Rink of Dreams at City Hall and Ben Franklin Place Skating Rink are open daily for public skating, weather permitting. For more information on sledding hills and the Mooney’s Bay Ski Centre visit the Sports fields and outdoor recreation page. Snowshoeing at Pinhey’s Point Historic Site is coming soon.
Whatever your pleasure, grab your gear, dress for the weather and come enjoy the season.
Live music
Where: Shenkman Arts Centre
When: January 17 to 19
Réseau Ontario invites everyone to come and enjoy Contact Ontarois, featuring three days of Francophone musicians from across Canada. Rock, folk, soul, funk, pop, hiop-hop, R&B, jazz and more more more.
Shopping
Where: Aberdeen Pavilion, Lansdowne
When: Sunday, January 14
The Ottawa Farmers’ Market is the only year-round, producer-only farmers’ market in Ottawa. This means that every vendor at our market grows, makes, and bakes everything that they offer from within 100 kms of the City of Ottawa.
Hockey
Ottawa 67s vs Mississauga Steelheads
Wednesday, January 17
Ottawa 67s vs Hamilton Bulldogs
Saturday, January 20
Ottawa 67s vs Peterborough Petes
Sunday, January 21
TD Arena, Lansdowne
Come see junior hockey’s finest and future NHLers battle it out in the 67’s historic 50th anniversary season.
