Ottawa police said they were on the scene and continuing to investigate Saturday night after a vehicle went through the ice of the Ottawa River in the Constance Bay area.
A shoreline resident called 911 at 7:36 p.m. to report the vehicle — reportedly a pickup truck — had sunk into the water near Greenland Road at Armitage Avenue.
Alerted by police, fire crews launched a rescue boat and were able to confirm that there was no one inside the vehicle.
