Renfrew OPP are investigating a single car crash on Highway 17 that killed a 63-year-old man.
Donald Dykens, 63, of Arnprior died in hospital after his pick-up truck left the road at high speed and travelled about 200 metres off the highway, through a ditch and into a tree. The accident occurred Monday at 12:07 p.m. just east of Gillan Road in Renfrew.
Initial reports indicated the driver suffered only minor injuries but his condition deteriorated quickly and he was transferred to the trauma unit where he died on Tuesday.
Police suspect a medical emergency may have caused the collision, but the they’re asking any witnesses to call the Renfrew OPP detachment at 613-432-3211.
