Ottawa firefighters made quick work Friday morning after a fire in the machinery of a paper shredder caused a noticeable amount of smoke and forced the evacuation of the building.
Crews arrived at the scene, on Polytek Road near Canotek Road in the Green’s Creek area, around 8:30 a.m. and found flames and heavy smoke emanating from a piece of machinery.
Firefighters applied a fast attack to quickly knock down the fire. It was deemed to be under control by 8:52 a.m. Crews remain on scene to ventilate the structure.
There are no reported injuries as a result of the fire.
