Spring? Spring who?

It’s Tuesday, April 3 and there’s still snow and freezing rain in the forecast.

Why won’t zombie winter die already?

The good news (and there’s not much) is that the precipitation should hold off until later this afternoon.

Today’s high should reach 4C and tonight’s low will drop to 0C.

The forecast is for wet snow, rain and then freezing rain which could last until Wednesday morning (don’t expect a pleasant commute).

And that wet snow? Don’t take that lightly.

Environment Canada is predicting that we could see as much as five centimetres by tomorrow morning.

This whole mess of a forecast has actually prompted Environment Canada to issue a special weather statement (they blame Colorado).

“Precipitation associated with a Colorado low pressure system will spread across central and eastern Ontario beginning this afternoon. The precipitation will likely start off as wet snow or a little rain, but may change to freezing rain later tonight. The freezing rain may persist for several hours into Wednesday morning.”

And sadly, tomorrow isn’t going to be any better.

More rain, freezing rain and snow are all expected and while Wednesday’s high will be a tad improved at 5C, tomorrow’s low is expected to drop all the way down to -12C.

We could get a glimpse of the sun again on Thursday but there’s still snow and negative temperatures expected at night.

Now, where did you put that shovel?
