Two teenagers were arrested Thursday after a replica handgun was pointed out of a vehicle in the Carlington area, Ottawa police said.
Police said a gun was pointed out of a vehicle near Summerville Avenue at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. When police later spotted the vehicle and tried to pull it over, a pursuit ensued.
Police arrested one suspect near Baseline Road and Fisher Avenue, where the vehicle had been abandoned. A K9 unit found and arrested the second suspect.
Police said they confiscated two replica handguns.
Nicholas Rathwell, 18, was charged with obstructing peace, occupying a stolen vehicle, possessing a dangerous weapon and seven counts of breaching court order.
A 16-year-old male was charged with dangerous driving, possessing a stolen vehicle and fleeing police.
Both men were scheduled to appear in court Friday and may face additional charges, police said.
