Ottawa police have arrested an unidentified wanted man after a car chase turned into a foot race on Friday afternoon.
Three others were also arrested.
At around 1:15 p.m., an officer spotted a man wanted on a warrant, along with three others, inside a vehicle in the parking lot of a strip mall near Fisher Avenue and Baseline Road.
Ottawa police Const. Chuck Benoit said the suspects tried to flee, but were chased through the lot. There was a collision between the suspects’ vehicle and the police cruiser, which also caused minor damage to other vehicles, Benoit said.
What followed was a foot chase between an officer and the suspect wanted on a warrant.
All four men were taken into custody.
The officer involved in the chase suffered an ankle injury, police said.
The suspects’ names, ages, or reason for the warrant remain undisclosed.
