The Ottawa police is seeking the public’s assistance in its hunt for Philippe Mallet, 24, of Ottawa.
Mallet is wanted as a sixth suspect after another five men were arrested following a guns and gangs takedown on April 13. The men were allegedly in possession of loaded handguns and illicit drugs, including cocaine, marijuana and fentanyl patches.
Insp. Mark Patterson, who oversees the police’s guns and gangs unit, called the suspects a “nefarious group” who he said are believed to be linked to recent gun activity across the city.
Mallet faces charges that include several counts of possession of a firearm without a license, failure to comply with the conditions of judicial release, and possession of an illicit substance, among others.
Police say Mallet is armed and dangerous and not to be approached. If seen, police ask people to call 911.
Anonymous tips can also be called in toll-free to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or by using the Ottawa police mobile app.
