A Toronto man is facing charges after Ontario Provincial Police investigated “numerous” complaints from female real estate agents who reported getting “inappropriate and unwanted” texts and calls over the past three months.
Detectives from Peterborough County crime unit made an arrest in Toronto on Wednesday and police say it appears victims were targeted in other parts of the province, too.
Mario Nelson Diniz, 54, is charged with seven counts of harassing communications and failure to comply with a probation order.
Investigators ask that anyone who got unwanted and harassing messages from a number beginning with 647-284-XXXX call Peterborough County OPP toll free at 1-888-310-1122.
