Ottawa firefighters were called to a blaze at a three-storey multi-unit home at 1039 Gladstone near Bayswater Avenue just after midnight Sunday.
Crews found heavy flames on the third floor and declared a second alarm working fire. The flames were under control by 1:30 a.m.
All occupants were safe, with no injuries.
Investigations by Ottawa Fire Services are continuing.
Meanwhile, a fire on the roof of an abandoned building on Middle Street was quickly brought under control by 2:35 on Sunday morning.
Both Ottawa and Gatineau firefighters responded to the blaze near the Zibi site and the Chaudière Bridge between Ottawa and Gatineau.
There were no reported injuries.
