Provincial police have confirmed that a second passenger has died of injuries sustained in Monday’s horrific bus crash near Prescott on Highway 401.
The passenger was identified as Xueying Ye, 57, from Shanghai, China.
The first passenger to have been reported deceased was identified as Changlin Xu, age 54 from Jiansu, China.
There was no update on the conditions of two other passengers who had sustained injuries described as life-threatening.
A multi-level investigation into how a Union Tour Express bus with 37 people on board slammed into a rocky embankment near Prescott at about 2:30 p.m. Monday is still ongoing.
The crash saw dozens of passengers sent to hospitals in Ottawa, Brockville, Kemptville and Kingston.
The driver of the bus suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
The bus was on a 10-day tour of the eastern United States and Canada. It had left Ottawa earlier in the day and was bound for Toronto.
