Three people were extricated from two vehicles after a collision on Shaw Road in Arnprior early Sunday morning.

Ottawa Fire Services responded to a two-vehicle crash reported at 7:34 a.m. The head-on collision at Shaw Road and Ottawa Road 29 required extrication of one person from one vehicle and two persons in the second vehicle. The Ottawa Paramedic Service could only say that the patients they transported were in “stable” condition.

Ottawa police confirmed collision investigators are looking into the matter, but could not provide further details.

The Ottawa fire department urges motorists who become trapped after a collision to call 911, if possible.

“Tell the dispatcher that you are trapped in your vehicle. Answer their questions as best as you can and follow their instructions,” said an Ottawa fire spokesperson in a release. “If you are trapped in a vehicle after a collision. Keep your seatbelt on until firefighters arrive, especially if you happen to be upside down. You don’t want to fall and further injure yourself or someone else who is in the vehicle with you.”
