One person has died of injuries sustained in a crash involving five tractor trailers on Highway 401 at Trenton early Friday morning.
OPP initially reported four rigs were involved in the crash, but later confirmed a fifth was involved. OPP also said one driver sustained minor injuries.
It happened just after midnight between Glen Miller Road and Wallbridge Loyalist Road but the eastbound lanes remained closed into the Friday morning commute, Quinte West OPP warned.
As technical traffic collision investigators continued their work, traffic was being directed off at Glen Miller Road and reenters Highway 401 at Highway 62.
There are heavy traffic delays through Trenton, the OPP’s communications centre warned.
