Ontario Provincial Police are at the scene of an accident, just east of Cornwall, that has left a 77-year-old cyclist in critical condition.
According to police, the cyclist was heading along County Road 2, which runs parallel to the St. Lawrence River, when he was struck by a passing car near Rae Road around 12:44 pm.
The cyclist was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
A section of County Road 2, between Rae Road and Purcell Road, in South Glengarry remains closed to traffic as police continue to investigate the collision.
