Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer says he’ll release new information related to the SNC-Lavalin affair on Sunday.

In a Saturday afternoon press release, Scheer said he will present new documents related to the scandal that has plagued Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government.

Scheer’s team did not specify what type of information is in the documents or how many pages will be released. The announcement is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Ottawa.

你被戏弄了吧? :D
是啊。有人认为这次SNC-Lavalin事件应对最差的就是保守党,认为如果现在是保守党执政,Andrew Scheer会做跟TRUDEAU完全一样的事. (1) Andrew Scheer still hasn’t come clean on what he would have done to handle SNC-Lavalin. And every single partisan Conservative attacking Trudeau would support Scheer for doing precisely what Trudeau’s intentions were — explore every possible avenue to protect jobs for Canadians.,(2) The unfortunate truth is that any other prime minister in Trudeau’s shoes, facing the possibility of a major corporation leaving the country — worse yet, leaving Quebec, his home province and one where the loss of every head office is a national crisis — would have likely done the same thing. He or she would have tried to get a DPA by whatever means possible — even if that meant having an inappropriate conversation with his AG.

The worst part of the Lavalin mess is the Conservatives' response

What makes the SNC-Lavalin mess such a pathetic mess — besides the many stupid decisions by both sides of the Liberal disagreement — has been the blatantly partisan and pathetic attacks by the Conservatives and NDP.

I’m sick and tired of the entire affair. Everyone I talk to about it other than partisan Conservatives seems to agree. It is the most deceptive act of political bull crap and bunk I have ever seen from an opposition party and leader.

Opposition members who attacked Jody Wilson-Raybould last December put her on a pedestal today. Partisan conservative pundits and “experts” on Twitter constantly attack Justin Trudeau for the way he handled his attorney general.

Funny how none of these same critics spoke up to defend Ontario Attorney General Caroline Mulroney last summer.

When Ontario Premier Doug Ford reduced the size of Toronto city council, Ontario’s top court ordered a stay in the case stopping Ford temporarily from cutting council. Within hours of the judge’s decision and out of nowhere, Ford announced his intention to use the notwithstanding clause to override the judge’s decision.

The most powerful legal weapon the Ontario government can use and Attorney General Mulroney wasn’t even involved publicly in any part of the decision. What if Mulroney had said she didn’t think Ford should use the notwithstanding clause? What if she has told the Premier she felt it was inappropriate?

Ford would have probably told her to consult an independent third-party legal expert.

What if Mulroney had said she didn’t need to speak with anyone else? What if Mulroney’s father had weighed in from the sidelines chirping the Premier and supporting his daughter? What if Mulroney had refused the Premier’s request to use the notwithstanding clause?

MPP Randy Hillier was permanently expelled from the Progressive Conservative caucus by Ford for bad-mouthing members of the public. He wasn’t a team player.

You know exactly what Ford would do to Caroline Mulroney if she treated him the way Wilson-Raybould has treated Trudeau. And every single partisan Conservative attacking Trudeau today would be supporting Ford and his actions.

No wonder the public trust in politics and government is at an all-time low. And the media are just as bad, lazily covering this story.

Andrew Scheer still hasn’t come clean on what he would have done to handle SNC-Lavalin. And every single partisan Conservative attacking Trudeau would support Scheer for doing precisely what Trudeau’s intentions were — explore every possible avenue to protect jobs for Canadians.

Wilson-Raybould by her own admission was asked to get an outside independent expert opinion on a decision that had never been made before. It is easy to play Monday morning quarterback. In hindsight when Wilson-Raybould acted the way she did — a prima donna if I have ever seen one — Trudeau had another option.

He should have gone public with the whole issue. He should have spoken out in Parliament about the dilemma. Andrew Scheer and Jagmeet Singh would have bent themselves into a pretzel to accommodate their Quebec caucuses.

Trudeau made many mistakes. The PM and his office royally screwed this up.

But his mistakes were made with the best of intentions, which is more than I can say for anyone else involved in this mess.
