The nomination period for the City’s 2020 Cumberland By-election has closed. The nomination period began on Wednesday, July 15 and ended today at 2 pm.
The City Clerk has certified all candidates in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (the MEA). The MEA requires the City Clerk to examine each nomination that has been filed to ensure it meets the requirements of the MEA and, if satisfied, certify the nomination. Only certified candidates will appear on the ballot.
The list of certified candidates is available.
Voting Day will be Monday, October 5. Advance Vote Days will take place on Monday, September 28 and Tuesday, September 29. Voting places will be open each day from 10 am until 8 pm.
