Join the City on Thursday, December 3 from 3 to 4 pm as we celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Due to COVID-19, the event will be held remotely via Zoom.
This year’s event will focus on the experiences and contributions of persons with visible and invisible disabilities. During the event:
To promote the inclusion of all participants, the following supports are in place for the event:
Register online by Friday, November 27.
When registering, please let us know if you require any additional disability-related accommodations in order to participate.

This year’s event will focus on the experiences and contributions of persons with visible and invisible disabilities. During the event:
- Mayor Jim Watson will speak.
- There will be presentations from:
- A member of the Accessibility Advisory Committee
- Marnie Peters, an expert in Universal Design and accessibility
- Kathleen Forestell (CNIB), Wayne Antle (Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians) and Kim Kilpatrick (Canadian Council for the Blind).
To promote the inclusion of all participants, the following supports are in place for the event:
- American Sign Language (ASL)
- Langue des signes québécoise (LSQ)
- Continuous real-time captioning in English and French
- Simultaneous French translation
