National Health and Fitness Day is on Saturday, June 5. This year’s theme is “Show us your moves.” To help celebrate, the City is offering free virtual yoga and Zumba classes to help get you moving that day.
Register at ottawa.ca/virtualprograms for the free virtual classes for all ages and abilities on Saturday, June 5 at these times:
This year more than ever, exercising at home or outdoors is so important to your overall physical and mental health.
Don’t limit your activities to the indoors. You can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air by walking, cycling and jogging outdoors while practising all COVID-safety precautions, including staying two metres from people outside your household and wearing a mask when it’s difficult to maintain physical distancing.
And be sure to challenge your family, friends and colleagues to get active and prove it by posting a picture or video on social media using the hashtag #showusyourmoves. For example, our own Dexter the Parkasaurus has challenged other mascots from across Ottawa to show their moves.
Remember that better days are ahead and the City is excited for when we can welcome back residents to all the many programs and activities at their recreation centres – both indoors and outside. Stay tuned this summer for our fall recreation guides to keep you moving through the rest of the year.
