A section of the eastbound Highway 174 and eastbound Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway (SJAM) will be closed this weekend for Stage 2 LRT work.
Both closures will begin in the evening on Friday, September 9 and will remain in place until early Monday, September 12. Detour signage will be in place at both locations during the closures.
Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway
Eastbound lanes on the SJAM Parkway will be closed between Woodroffe Avenue and Island Park Drive to allow for construction of an underground utility duct bank.
The following detour will be in effect during the closure:
Highway 174
Eastbound Highway 174 between Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard and Champlain Street will close to allow for installation of a new pedestrian bridge.
The following detour will be in effect during the closure:
Motorists in the east should also note that Montreal Road at Highway 174 will be closed from the evening of Friday, September 9 until early Monday, September 12, including the closure of all ramps.
The Stage 2 O-Train East extension will run in the median of Highway 174, on a guideway bridge that is being constructed to connect the existing Blair Station rail line to the new extension. The Stage 2 West extension will add an additional 15 kilometres of rail and 11 new stations, connecting more communities and greenspace to the LRT network.

- Eastbound traffic on the SJAM will be detoured to Woodroffe Avenue, Richmond Road and Island Park Drive, then back onto the SJAM.

- Eastbound traffic on Highway 174 will exit the highway at Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard, to Place d’Orléans Drive, and back onto Highway 174 east.
- Northbound traffic on Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard will continue north to Orléans Boulevard, to Place d’Orléans Drive, and onto Highway 174 east.
