OC Transpo, in partnership with Safer Roads Ottawa and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Ottawa, is offering no-charge bus, O-Train and Para Transpo service on New Year’s Eve from 6 pm until 4 am on January 1.

Transit is the best way to travel to festivities downtown and across the city. Skip the search for parking and let us do the driving!

OC Transpo will run a Saturday schedule with additional service on busy routes. Use the Travel Planner to plan your New Year’s Eve trip. O-Train Line 1 will run until 2 am, after which Night bus service will run through downtown. Line 2 bus service will run until 1 am. Fare gates will be open and OC Transpo will have staff at some stations to help customers.

Para Transpo service

Para Transpo will operate a holiday schedule on New Year’s Eve with service running until 3 am. The last trips are booked for 2:30 am (2 am for rural trips). Regular scheduled trips will not be automatically cancelled on New Year’s Eve, so be sure to cancel your trip if you do not need it.

Book your trip in advance for New Year’s Eve by using My Para Transpo or by calling 615-560-5000. Para Transpo bookings for midnight or later on December 31 must be made by phone.

Customer Service will be available from 8 am to 9 pm on December 31. Call 613-560-5000 or use the video chat feature on ticket machines to speak to a Customer Service Representative. The Rideau Centre Customer Service Centre will be open from 10 am to 5 pm on December 31.
