how to make 5 Meg pixel photo smaller?

I just bought Kodak DX4530. I have to ask a stupid question, I couldn't find answer in the user guide: I find that the picture is very big when I download in computer. How can I adjust picture size smaller? Shoud I adjust the size when I take a photo or when I edit it?
