Permanent position.
The following government organization is responsible for this
competitive process: Privy Council Office
SALARY: $71,888 to $82,196 (PM-06)
LANGUAGE: English essential
WHO CAN APPLY: Persons residing or employed in Canada and Canadian
citizens residing abroad.
EDUCATION: Graduation with an acceptable degree at the MA level from a
recognized university, with specialization in political science,
economics, international affairs, or a combination of education,
training, and experience related to the position, along with some
appropriate post-graduate training.
EXPERIENCE: Extensive experience in researching a wide range of
primary sources of information on developments in China, and as they
relate to regional developments.
Extensive experience in international relations.
Extensive experience as an active participant in policy, research, or
analytical meetings on issues related to China.
Extensive experience in preparing, presenting, and defending
effectively oral and written briefs to senior government or private
sector officials.
Extensive experience participating in, and coordinating, small task
forces or working groups, or other collaborative research.
Extensive experience in network building and client-service relations
with government departments and agencies, or private sector
organizations.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS: Condition of employment:
Security clearance: Top Secret Level III - this factor is not used at
the preselection stage.
Candidates from outside the federal Public Service may be required to
pay for their own travel and relocation expenses.
Desirable Qualifications and Requirements:
Ability to read and speak Mandarin.
First hand experience working or travelling in China.
Knowledge of the Canadian intelligence community, including its
organizations and key foreign allies.
Experience in working in or with the Canadian Intelligence Community.
