The 3rd term “Ottawa-Chinese Cup” Table Tennis Tournament
Co-organized by
Ottawa Association of Chinese-Canadian University Alumni and
Ottawa Chinese Table Tennis Club
• Place: Chinese Community Building (80 Florence Street, intersection with Kent St., North of Gladstone Ave, west of Bank St)
• Time and Date: 9:00 AM -5:30 PM, May 16, 2004 (Sunday)
Dear Players,
Thank you for being interested in the game. We now have more than forty players registered. The organizers wish you all the best and an enjoyable time.
The tournament will have two rounds: the 1st round, Group Round-Robin, involves 5-6 players, including 2 seeded players, in each of the eight groups. The 16 seeded players are selected by considering their recent scores in different tournaments, consulting some experts and random drawing, in order to be as objective as possible. The 1st and 2nd winners from each group, in total of 16 from 8 groups, enter the second round, in which elimination will be played. During the 2nd round, games among ladies and seniors will be organized in the form of eliminating.
Games in the first round are counted in the best 3 of 5; and in the second round the best 4 of 7. Each set has eleven points.
To ensure the event running smoothly, we ask for your support and cooperation. Please pay particular attention to the following issues:
1. Honoring your commitments (show-up and playing on the day of tournament);
2. Honoring your contributions (registration fee, $5.00 each. If it cannot be paid in advance, please make the payment at the tournament);
3. Arriving the tournament site on time, 8:45 AM; and do not miss any single game;
4. Respecting rules, referees and the group leader (to be assigned by the organizer);
5. Keeping the site tidy and in order; do not talk unnecessarily loud;
6. Preparing your own drink and food (Tea and microwave, for re-heating food, are planned to be available).
The organizers, on behalf of all who participate in the event, thank Mr. Fred Wang, Mr. Boo Tang and Ms Dong Liu for their generous sponsorships.
If have any questions or suggestions, please contact George, at 228-0437 or 995-3094.
