Responsibilities
As a Software Designer, you will participate in all the activities and deliverables of a challenging and innovative development process. Your responsibilities include design, development and maintenance of various real-time software applications for IP telecommunications products. Your primary activities are to conduct detailed analysis, design, develop, troubleshoot and document software programs. Your application will run on state of the art processors using real time operating systems.
Qualifications
Education:
Computer Science Degree or Computer Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.
Experience/Skills
Minimum 5 years of development experience
Minimum of 5 years IP Networking experience
Knowledge of VoIP such as: MGCP, MEGACO, SIP and H323
Strong knowledge of Object Oriented design and C++
Knowledge of UNIX (Solaris) operating system.
Knowledge of Window NT operating system, including clustering and socket concepts.
Knowledge of Real-time operating system (RTOS), specifically VxWorks and OSE
Hands-on experience with telephony (DS1, ISDN, SS7, CAS, VOIP, RTP)
Good understanding of call processing concepts and architectures
Ability to grasp complex concepts
Logical and analytical approach to solving problems
Able to work with minimal supervision
Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work as part of a multi-discipline team
Assets
Hands-on with ObjecTime developer and/or Rose Real-Time, knowledge of telephony signaling products and hands-on design using different standards such as: SNMP, TCP/IP client/server applications.
Bilingual (English and French).
