请问大家一个问题. 朋友是加拿大公民, 要去美国interview. 过海关时, 是不是就说是去interview? 会不会有麻烦?

Permanet Position　可以申请TN，但是TN是临时工的签证，所以HR给海关的信写得要有技巧，起止时间仍不可超过一年。

另外，再补充两点，
1，(只限于engineer position)，不论你的工作的Title是什么，一定要强调你的工作性质就是Engineering。
2，移民官有时会问你的职位是否和management有关，(business management or people management)，此时要小心，一般就说你只是干活的，不是manager。

Got a TN today, 3 years.
I got a manager's position in offer letter, however the seperate letter sent to US border service explains that this is a job requiring a degreed engineer. The officer confirmed this with me and things went soomthly and quickly, 30 mins.

Does anyone know or have experience to use the "computer network system analyst" as job title to apply the TN visa? Because the job is for telecom network system,I am afraid the HR thinks "computer system analyst" is too far from the real job.

Just Google for the skills that are covered under NAFTA.
They might have to change the job title to Computer Engineer to
have you qualify for the job. I had to do that to get my TN visa.

Also: For people who are going down for their interview, at the border crossing or the airports, DO your best not to use the term "Job Interview", just say something like "I am going to meet with Mr. Smith at company xyz regarding a future employment opportunity". Trust me, you'll get the visa if you play safe. Also, don't hide anything, tell the truth or you'll get denied.

我看了一下NAFTA 的网站. 在他们的网站中有个 APPENDIX 1603.D.1 列出了
PROFESSIONALS TITLE.
第一个是: ACCOUNTANT
第三个是: COMPUTER SYSTEMS ANALYST
第六个是: ENGINEER.
I only want to make sure whether I can use any professional title in APPENDIX 1603.D.1 or not.

Education Evaluation can be done in US

I had my Chinese university diploma and degree evaluated in New York City. It was fast for few days, costly, and simple (sending the scan of diploma, degree and other documents by emails, pay with credit card). And the evaluation was accepted by the officer. The evaluation firm is listed on the paper the border officer gave to me.

I did not see this post when I applying it. This post is very helpful.
The title must be correct because the officer may not know much about computer.
