These tools and services are invaluable to the service providers' and equipment manufacturer's ability to plan, build and operate their wireless networks.



Position Title: RF Domain Engineer (Ottawa, ON)



As a key member of the Research & Development team, the RF Domain Engineer will interface extensively with software development, product management, business development, testing, customer support and sales engineering.



This position is based in our Ottawa, ON office. However, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake occasional international travel to customer and other sites as and when required.



Key Responsibilities:

・ Preparation of requirement and functional specifications for software products for mobile communications technologies

・ Research and validation of algorithms for RF simulation, analysis and optimization tools

・ Provide technical telecommunications expertise to the Product development process

・ Develop 2G and 3G knowledge through theoretical training and practical experience with clients

・ Project planning

・ Collaboration with software development

・ System Test, Product acceptance and Business Cycle testing

・ Review of technical documentation

・ Internal/External product demonstrations

・ Provide the customer services department with technical support on highly specialized software components (post-sales support)

・ Assist the sales department with pre-sales support

・ Work with the sales and marketing department to develop the appropriate collateral documentation

・ Work with the business development team to assist on 3rd party product technical due diligence



Key Qualifications:

・ Bachelor Degree in Engineering, or equivalent, or higher

・ Minimum 2 years of experience in mobile network planning, implementation and optimization

・ Proven experience with RF planning software

・ Knowledge of various mobile RF technologies (GSM/GPRS/EDGE, iDEN, CDMA2000, WCDMA, TETRA, TD-SCDMA, etc.)

・ Proven software skills (design, specifications, test) in a software development environment

・ Good communication skills

・ Fluent English



Assets:

・ Experience in project management

・ Understanding of Fixed Wireless and BWA networks

・ Understanding of / expertise in other RF-related areas (propagation, signal treatment, optimization, etc.)

・ Software degree and/or experience in software development lifecycle (software design (UML), database management systems, software development, etc.)

・ Good knowledge of the mobile RF engineering market
