I will try them again in the office...actually I need winzip and nero SDKs to support unicode filename...but since the applications support unicode filename, there must be some versions of SDK support it though the ones i am using now do not..

thanks man! WinZip works now. PCbrother pinpointed the problem. It's a setting in Reginal and Language settings.

It seems like either Nero or WinZip is not fully unicode compatible. It depends on the OS to select the correct code page for the filename.

Anyway, thank you for the helps!

倒! if the application is fully unicode compatible, then there is no need for the OS to support it. of course, the OS needs to provide the correct the fonts.

you can try this and see how winzip busted. Select two characters from different code page, say a Chinese character and a Thai character, include them in a filename and see if the winzip or nero works?

Atually, it doesnot quite matter what the format of the contents, it's only the format of filename...
