The Fisher Price Bee-Bop Buildin' Singin' Snail Pail is a musical shape-sorting toy containing blocks designed for babies and toddlers 6 months of age and older. I've seen this item recently in the toy department at Wal-Mart for $9.97 each. It contains 10 plastic blocks of varying shapes and colors that fit neatly inside the snail's "body" when stored. The blocks can be placed inside the holding area, or "shell", by placing each of the three different shaped blocks through the appropriate holes located on the top lid, or by lifting the lid completely and dropping them inside. And the snail's "head" and "body" are fully removeable from the musical base as well. And as an added bonus, the Bee-Bop Buildin' Singin' Snail Pail plays a pleasantly fun musical tune when the base is rocked back and forth. Surprisingly, batteries ARE included, so replace them with 2 button-cell (LR44 or equivalent) alkaline batteries as needed.
BLOCKS
The 10 colored blocks included within the Fisher Price Bee-Bop Buildin' Singin' Snail Pail are blue, purple, orange, green, yellow, and white with black stripes. Colors will vary within each separate toy. These durable, plastic, easy-to-clean blocks come in three separate shapes as well: a triangle, a star, and a flower. The object of this shape sorting baby toy is to enhance a child's budding spacial developmental skills as he or she learns to place each of the different shapes into the correct slot at the top of the rounded snail pail. Beginners and younger babies may simply enjoy placing the blocks inside the snail pail opening with the lid off as this task is a bit easier. And of course, be prepared for these colorful blocks to be thrown across the room a time or two as well in the process!

The eyes are wide and open and the mouth is shaped into a cute and happy grin. The snail's antenna are green and are constructed with different rounded, textured shapes. This toy's snail head can be taken off the musical base and placed inside the snail pail as desired, and then put back in it's rightful place again and again.

The front is constructed of a durable, clear plastic with a rounded spiral design molded into it. The base and lid are red, and the back is a solid bright yellow color with the same spiral design found in front. And there is an indentation on one side of the Bee-Bop Buildin' Singin' Snail Pail for the snail's head to rest as well as two holes on the bottom where the snail pail fits tightly upon the musical base when fully assembled.
MUSICAL BASE

Rock this piece back and forth to prompt the delightful musical tune to begin playing. Unlike the very loud and annoying tune played by the Fisher Price Bee-Bop Buildin' Twirlin' Whirlin' Garden, the music played here is softer and is much more pleasing to the ear. Tristan loves this toy! It really does take a long time before the Bee-Bop Buildin' Singin' Snail Pail begins to become irritating, which is truly unusual for most musical toys designed for babies. Take the snail pail off this blue musical base, and baby can build onto the snail's "roly-poly" back with the enclosed 10 blocks, much in the same way as with the "garden" toy as well.
