We are looking for a Full/Part-time Coordinator (15 -35 hours/week) for our LINC Program (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada).
The LINC coordinator reports to the Program Manager of the Settlement Services Department.
The major responsibilities of the LINC coordinator are dealing with student enrolment and attendance, teachers’ supervision, curriculum and staff development.
Qualifications:
• Good command of English and Chinese (preferably Mandarin & Cantonese) both in writing and speaking
• Strong skills in planning, organization, communication, math and/or finance
• Demonstrated track record on completion of reports and other work accurately and on a timely basis
• Proven & demonstrated excellent leadership & interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in computer applications including desktop publishing, word processing and Excel.
• Experience and knowledge in preparing and filing government funding applications are considered an asset
• Proven experience in working with new immigrants
• Possess a certificate in teachers' training and/or ESL teachers' training or equivalent
• At least 2 years administration experience, preferably in program coordination
• Experience in ESL teaching and curriculum development is considered an asset.
• Be able to work in some evenings and weekends
• Possess a valid Ontario driver's license
