This is an interesting case. If the fall of the light pole was judged by police as another party's fault, your car will be covered BY your insurance company as DIRECT COMPENSATION; however, if the fall was judged as natural disaster AND you don't have COMPREHENSIVE PERILS coverage option, your car will not be covered. Basing on Ontario's insurance policy, any damages to your car can ONLY be covered by your own insurance company so they may want to push you away. You need to claim from your insurance company by referring to the police report. - My 2 cents just for information - Could be wrong.
