[闲聊] Canon 350D和Canon 20D

看一些评论说350D除了连拍速度和用料为工程塑料外，其他性能基本与20D持平。这样对于大部分用户来说，是否350D就能取代20D了呢？而350D要比20D便宜很多的。

感觉佳能不会做这样的事呀？有没有比较了解的朋友来说两句呢？

and there is body quality factor.

you may justify by yourself, do you want to pay more money for those extra features?

Get 350D, invest $$$ to glasses instead.
Ask yourself, do you need 1/8000 shutter? do you need 5fps?
And sooner or later you want a newer body anyway.

Another factor to consider is the quick dial on the back. i find it very convinient as opposed to the navigating through menu/arrow button, which can be slow and frustrating.

If I had to face the same choice now, it would be a lot tougher than last year. Function wise, 350D is really close compared to 20D, whereas 300D had a few deadly shortcomings that I can not tolerate (e.g., no choice of focusing mode).

20D over 350D/XT:

1. 5 vs. 3 fps
2. 9 pt AF with high-accuracy center cross sensor when used with F2.8 or faster lenses vs. 7 pt AF and no high-accuracy sensor
3. 6 frame RAW vs 5 (or 4 when shooting RAW + JPEG)
4. 21-23 (depending on spec you read) JPEG buffering vs 14
5. 1/8000s max shutter vs 1/4000s
6. 1/250s flash synch vs. 1/200s
7. 8.2 Mpixel sensor vs. 8.0 (with some other differences probably due to modifying sensor for cost and elimination of circuits needed for higher frame rate readout)
8. ISO 3200 max vs ISO 1600
9. Magnesium body vs. polycarbonate (with steel subframe?)
10. 118,000 pixel LCD vs. 115,000
11. Slightly higher viewfinder mag
12. More custom functions
13. Larger capacity BP-511a battery vs. NB-2LH (half the capacity)

其实这些都是专业用途和业余用途的区别，即使是专业用途，
20D的这些优点都不是总能用到的。

介于个人经济状况：系一穷学生，又无家庭背景，连吃饭都吃了上顿没下顿的。所以原本想一次性购买能够几年甚至更长时间不会被取代的机器。
