Other reasons could be........

我刚来加拿大没多久,请问各位加拿大政府为啥不同意老人们来加???
Other than to lesson the Government's burden of social protection, I guess the other reasons could be,
Reason No. 1, most Chinese couples would leave their kid(s) at home if they have grandparents here, that causes less demand for daycares/after school cares and job losses in the daycare sector. Also, in the tax return, these working couples could claim that they paid their parents for the caregiving they provided and claim the daycare fee (which is around 7000 annualy max.) This 7000 is within the exemption limit so no tax for the grandparents and tax income loss for the government.
Reason No. 2, I also doubt any of our parent can serve as strip dancers and therefore won't be able to lend a helping hand in some big potato's election compaign.
Reason No. 3, many parent who have immigrated here didn't choose to live with their kids, instead they applied for the government housing for low-incomes and crowded out the other local seniors who have been on the waiting list or intend to be.
Reason No. This compulsory retirement system is still in use and the baby boomers are exiting the labour force.....
Here are my two cents.
