Question for driver's licence renewal

My driver's licence will be expired on May 4, 2005. I got a letter telling me to renew my driver's licence before expired date. I have my driver's licence renewed today, but only got one year valid. I was told my driver's licence need to renew again next year when I renew my licence plate. I said the renewed licence should be valid for five years, but that lady said I would get a five-year valid driver's licence next year. It is so strange! Who has this experience? Thanks.

我也刚renew，给了我2年另几天，同我的生日对齐。
可能和年龄对齐。不过交钱也少。

还没有renew 5年的，最长的3年半。
