at the end, allow me to ask a little question

how on earth do I preserve exif info when use PS? I use "Digital Photo Professional" - DDP (comes with the camera) to convert from raws to tiff. The exif info is preserved well at this stage. Then, in PS, everything seems lost. How do I keep these info? I need them to improve my skills.

Any help on this one? Thanks very much!

BTW, I feel that the AWB in 350D seems not as good as the one in my old S400, although the later is a P&P camera. I often had to adjust the color temp in PS. Is it really worse than the S400 or I am getting picky?? Any 350D users out there has the same feeling as I do?

#5 is my favarite in this batch. That breaks the ground of not using stones as foreground in sunset/rise photos. It will be perfect if the whole boat is shown (why you cut a corner).

As to the portraits, you need 50/1.8 for these occasions, 70-200 is too slow. White balance is a big challenge under tricky lighting and you may need custom white balance. I also find RAW convertor plays a big role. I use Canon EVU exclusively after some comparisons. It gives the most accurate skin tones.

Good start and it's only going to get better.

Geerrr... anway... I probably need a card reader anyway. I will get one then. Although the new firmware does not really apply to my problem specifically. I think I will go ahead and do it anyway. As an IT guy, I just can not stand bugs in my devices.

BTW, don't you find 17mm is not wide enough on 1.6x body ?

ha ha ha~ that is bit crazy. I saw that one before. in my case, I need to remove the dock instead, hmmm... not sure if the club mind me blowing their dock away. lol. it probably will be a beach club instead. ha ha ha~

17 on 1.6x body is narrow for sure. However, according to my research, most of beautiful photos fall in the range of 28-128. I am ok with it for now. Besides, as you know, I used to use a S400, a much less sophisticated camera. Having this camera has been a big step forward to me. I can still enjoy this lens for a while... until next time I clean up my bank account. lol.

#1,#2: fad说得没错, 猫眯确实非常合作, 200mm端(是小小白吧?), 1/30秒能拍清楚, 不易啦!
#5: 时间恰到好处, 光线最好的时候. 我觉得不怕把dock拍上, 至少有个交代, 反正桅杆已经拍不全了! 索性只留全船和云的倒映.
#6: 表情抓的很好, MM很PL. #10 是有点儿太rosy了! 问问她愿不愿当外拍模特儿?
我觉得你portrait拍得不错, 建议直接上50/1.4或85/1.4.
多拍, 多上片! 期待...
