The dripping is from the red and white buttoms.

Check the plastic pipe first. is it blocked? If yes, your friend is correct:). Try to clean the pipe and see if it stops the leaking. Poor sealing around the connector could be another possible cause to the leaking but, I suggect not to touch the connector because it may violate the warrant contract.

The pipe is the condensation drain for the airconditioner, not the furnace. If you need to call for service, an airconditin contractor may be able to help.

I will DIY first tonight.

Also I signed up for the furnace protection plan the other day, looks like I signed up for the wrong one now.

if the the pipe is blocked ,you can not clean it,u may disconnect it, and buy a new one from home depot, and reconnect it, put one end to the drian in the basement.

DIY result..........

Checked the condesation pipe, doesn't look like it's blocked, there is water in it, and it is correctly connected to the drain at the sink.

I will make a trip to HD to get new pipe to give a try anyways.

Thanks for all the responses.

your drain at the sink maybe blocked????

if you disconnected the pipe from top,
you will notice:if the water is inside,
the drain is blocked,
if no water, the drain is not blocked.

There is some water in the pipe, the water level is about the same height of the sink.

The other end of the pipe is connected to the drain next to the faucet in the sink, it's about 1 metre above the ground. So my understanding is, due to pressure or gravity, the water below the sink level won't go down the drain unless more water come down. I am not sure if I have made myself clear. Physics has always been my weakiest.

Now it sounds like a plumbing problem:).

Could you try to let the pipe discharge into the floor drain? also try to pour water into the sink, as well as the condensation drain, see if they're working properly.

get fixed?

Now I think of it, I have to laugh at myself.

As most people suggested, it was the condensition piple being blocked. When I took off the pipe and cleaned the inside, everything was fine now. But I should have acted sooner, it might bet serious if I keep letting water remain in the furnace.

I want to thank everyone who offered his/her opinion.
Keep enjoying your summer while it's still here.

PFPF! Good job.
