Performance Engineer with both Systems Administration and Performance skills. The candidate must have strong middle tier webshphere along with strong unix skills. This individual will be helping to build an environment from scratch.
Description:
Assists w/ setting up production-like test environments on Solaris/WebSphere platform.
Develops performance scripts using Mercury LoadRunner.
Conducts tests, verifies and analyzes validity of results and either devises solutions to web/N-tier problems or takes lead role to coordinate other project constituents to identify, define problem, revise test plan/scripts to resolve issue.
SKILLS: Systems Administration and Performance Engineering skills.
Systems Administration
Ability to: - install WAS v4.x/5.x, - deploy EAR/WAR - update property files/user access - start/stop processes - configure and tune WAS during performance tests - check/install fix packs, - research issues via log files.
* Working knowledge of Solaris Unix.
* General knowledge of Wintel, N-tier architectures, and TCP/IP networking concepts.
Performance Engineer
Knowledge of various industry performance tools.
* Strong experience of Mercury LoadRunner, and add-ons (network delay monitor, J2ee diagnostics) as well as Mercury automation tools (WinRunner, QTP and Quality Center or Test Director).
* Ability to communicate and lead test efforts to interview developers, architects and systems admins to develop testing strategy, performance scripts, validate/analyze results, and coordinate resolution efforts across matrix support environment.
