I need a, Senior UNIX Administrators,
My name is Phillip Bue and I am the Sr. Recruiter with TSG. For over 20 years, TSG IT Resources has provided clients in the information technology arena nationwide with the technical and administrative expertise to meet or exceed their IT objectives. Our Client in the Chicago Loop and western Suburbs is in need of Senior UNIX Administrators for a long term Contract and Contract-to-hire scenarios
Job Descriptions:
1) Chicago Loop 9+ month contract
Senior Unix/Solaris Administrator who is willing to learn quickly and support various applications while Supporting UNIX Solaris Systems:
Many of the applications are client's apps that the consultants need to be willing to learn with a learning curve (They are not expecting consultant to have knowledge of apps but a willingness to learn) Knowledge of C, Java, and JMS is expected as far as administration, insofar as to be able to support developers who use those languages and to code simple examples/tools. The candidate must be able to work on projects that extend MQ infrastructure. Knowledge of the WebSphere Application Server environment and how it relates to and interacts with WebSphere MQ is desired. This person needs to be fully competent to work under general direction on complex projects usually on specific assigned projects, issues and problems. Several projects will usually be active at the same time, so the ability to multitask is essential to success for this position. Ability to gain awareness of business or function for which application is designed is important. The ability to work in a geographically distributed work environment is required.
The actual team is the Shared Services Team which runs on UNIX system and supports the Business Apps. When/if problem arises, consultant needs to assess if problem is a UNIX based problem (system) or application problem.
Skills:
6+ Years of UNIX administration
Great Communication Skills are a must!
Seasoned Solaris Experience
Weblogic app server 5.0 experience preferred but is a plus
WebSphere administration experience
MQ Series Administration experience
Would also like some experience or knowledge with Linux
Some other Applications that are nice to haves but the candidate will be expected to learn:

Actuate
Lightweight Directory Application Product (Sun)
2) Oakbrook area=2 Solaris Administrators (1 day & 1 night shift), and 2 HP-UX Administrators (1 day & 1 night shift), 4-6 month contract
Required

2-3 years supporting Sun Solaris servers, Hardware and OS (Solaris 2.7 and above)
1 year supporting a Veritas Netbackup environment (NB 3.4 and above)
1 year Veritas Volume Manager
Experience with patching, trouble shooting, tuning
Nice to have
Other UNIX operating systems (HP-UX, AIX)
Scripting (KSH or other) skills
Required
HP-UX Administrators
2-3 years supporting HP servers, Hardware and OS (HP 11.0 and above)
1 year supporting a Veritas Netbackup environment (NB 3.4 and above)
1 year Veritas Volume Manager & HP LVM
Experience with patching, trouble shooting, tuning and Glance
Nice to have
Other UNIX operating systems (Solaris, AIX)
Scripting (KSH or other) skills
3) Chicago Loop SAN Expert 8 month contract
System Engineer/Architect/Administrators design, construct, test and implement basic integrated network hardware and software solutions, distributed computing solutions, and physical/logical communications networks. They monitor performance to identify and resolve system infrastructure problems.
The position requires 3 or more years of progressive technical experience in enterprise level storage environments. The position requires the skills to develop, implement and manage a SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network Attached Storage). The candidate must have hands on experience with EMC's Control Center, srdf, and timefinder as well as director class switches and high availability SAN configurations.
Other tasks include:
Monitor for capacity planning
Install software upgrades
Manage hardware upgrades
Participate in system testing
Contingency planning
Provide problem management & tracking
Evaluate technologies
Required Skills:
・ 5+ years supporting Storage Area Network in a UNIX based hardware environment.
・ Experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining multi-terabyte disk arrays in SAN/NAS configurations.
・ Experience in Zoning and lun masking in an EMC/Brocade environment.
・ 5 years experience with EMC/HDS disk arrays
・ Experience with configuring EMC BCV's
・ Well versed in configuring Fibre HBA's
・ Experience with UNIX (Solaris/HP-UX)
Nice to have:
・ Experience with Veritas Netbackup
・ Understanding of SAP systems
・ Web administration skills
・ Understanding of server clustering
