Can I use Hitech filters on my Cokin holder? What's the different between Hitech GND and Cokin GND?

deepbluesee: I think the answer is yes, as long as you use Cokin P holder (as far as I know there are few types of Cokin holder). In fact, the filter holder I bought is Cokin P.

According to star, Cokin GND is not neutral so you can get color shift. Hitech filter seems to be better in that aspect and not too expensive compared with Sing Ray.

你的CPL是哪种, 要买的话, 是不是就按最大的DIAMETER买?(for me, 77, 17-40/F4L) CPL和GND哪个对数码效果更明显?

david: you need both, trust me.

CPL reduce flare/reflection and blue the sky; GND is a must when you have high contrast scene, which is typically the case for sunset/sunrise. I tried multiple exposures and blend them in Photoshop but it's just not natural. Probably it's because my PS skill is poor. Suggest you try the digital way first and see whether you like it or not.

For CPL, I used Hoya Super HMC. Bought it from a guy in China as the price is good (Thanks Sean for providing the info). If you are interested, I can send you his contact.

Yes, buy the CPL with largest diameter,i.e., 77mm for Canon, and use step up rings for other lens.

Thanks, Fad. Sure I want to try both, but the cost is always a factor. So, I'd like to give a shot on CPL first. How can I get it if I bought it from the guy in China? Would you also send his contact to me with QQH. Many thanks. David
