you told me you have a digi slr, right?
for myself, my build-in spot meter worked as a back up, whole camera normaly as a dark box,pure manuly.
so, 35-67-45-810,no difference, technicially.

You are not answering my question. What would you do if you don't have a spot meter in your SLR, digital or not, when you want to shoot a scene such as sun set/sun rise with high dynamic range ?

And another question: how do you do metering with external spot meter when you have to use GND, i.e., how do you make sure your 3 stop GND is really 3 stop, and any addtional loss of CPL or whatever ?

仔细看一下john关于mt rainer的那段，对你会有启发的。
至于在按快门前究竟怎样测光，各人有各人的方法，更有经验的人可能用nikon的中央重点（60/40）可以得到自己认为完美的解决。我自己更喜欢点测，这没什么值得吹嘘的，更无可厚非，因为我想精益求精。
只能说这么多，见面再说吧。

Thanks, star. I'm familiar with that part but I think it applies well to on-camera meter. With external one, it might be quite a hassle. By the time you get the meter done, light already changed. Anyway, will discuss this with you later.

there are some differences between playing FC and playing DC. At least an external light meter is not necessary.

这个片子很AMAZING。我估计是高速快门+侧面夕阳强照+大雨。

如果没有下雨，这个场景是可能做的出来的，估计也是刚下完雨，FAD自己去晃树，
那就太有创意了。

当时是侧逆光, 聚焦在松树枝上, 测光是"点"测草坪-2/3.

In fact, the accurary exposure is not so important as before when you use a DSLR, you don't need spending too much time on calculating the exposure, there are a lots of other things to be thought before you push the button. Even in the film era we know that no "correct" exposure but only "optimum" exposure.

I do appreciate your "态度" for the photography.
