Role Description

The consultant will be a member of the Investment Management Production Support team. This team supports numerous vendor and internally developed investment applications. A successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding analytic / problem solving skills, and will obtain job satisfaction in a fasted-paced problem solving environment. The candidate should clearly understand that this is a production support position, and that this is not a pure coding position. However, the candidate must possess strong technology skills in order to quickly solve problems.



Skills / Qualifications
Technical Skills

Sybase database

UNIX, Korne shell scripting

Stored procedures

Microsoft SQL Server

Object Oriented programming experience with either Java or C# (C# is a plus)

Web applications: JSP, ASP, .NET

Web servers: IIS, JRun

C programming

NT scripting



Investment Industry Background

Exposure to the Investment Management industry (i.e., some understanding of trading, investments, fund administration or investment operations a Plus)

Portia experience (Portia is a portfolio management system and is core to the firm's investment technology infrastructure a Plus)



Education

College degree or equivalent work experience



Additional Skills

Strong verbal communication skills are critical, as the consultant will work closely with business areas

High level of productivity

Strong problem solving skills

Professional approach to work

Prior support experience is a plus
