【请教】公民考试问题

收到考试通知，要求考试的时候提供的东西中有一项为：

your original documents that support your citizenship application (Immigration Record of Landing (IMM 1000) and/or Permanent Resident Card (if you have both, please bring both of them), birth certificate, etc.);

怎么还要提供“birth certificate”呢？已经问过中国大使馆，不能做。周末移民局也不上班了。

哪位最近参加过考试，是不是一定要提供“birth certificate”呢？
