I know a family who live in Toronto Downtown. 15 mins walk distance to China town. They rent their ground floor (one bed room, living room, kitchen, bath room )to Tourists. $50/day.

the price of motel is just a little higher. eating at restaurant in toronto is cheaper, I think motel is better for vacation.
