Discount on new Toyota or Honda

Just wondering if there is anybody here who has experience of buying a new Toyota or Honda from a new car dealer. What discount price range can you get? Thanks for your information in advance.

when and where

Depends on the time.
Usually Toyota has lower margin than Honda. You will get less discount. And Toyota is one-price non-negociable in canada except Ontario.

Toyota Sienna CE, $2000 off MSRP. It all depends on what kind of car you buy.

i got it from Mendes Toyota, my friend got even more from Bel-air Lexus Toyota. it's off MSRP, which means before tax. I bought the van last year, my friend bought the year before last year.

when you bargain with them, talk about their invoice price, not the MSRP. for example, the Sienna CE's invoice price is about $27300, which means, the dealer pays this price to Toyota. Usually if they can make a profit from $500 to $1000, they will be happy.

you can find the invoice prices from the web.

i know that most people arround me got only $1500 off MSRP, because they don't know the dealer's bottom line/invoice price.

i dealt with the chinese lady at mendes. but i won't recommend her at all, because she is not as honest as she appears to. i don't the discount on odyssey.

here are some tricks you can play:

* get a quote from a dealer first. then another dealer will beat that price for sure.
* let them know that you have many friends who own siennas. and all your friends get better deals than you are offered.
* never sign anything before you make up your mind. the salesperson will always push you into the signing.

remeber to mention that you have a hard time choosing between odyssey and sienna. then you'll know what they will do to get you buy their sienna.

another thing to mention:
if you use toyota's financing, you can bargain on the interest rate too. if it's 3.9%, usually you can get 2.9%. unfortunately, most people do not know this.

there are chinese salesmen and women at all of these dealers. a new chinese lady at Tony Graham Toyota is petty nice.

You may get $3000 by Honda accord. But do not go to Dow Honda which does not have a good name.
