I am not forcing her at all.I have said I'd like to find a way to help. I know as a friend, you can only help, but not badysit. Until now I haven't found any way to help her efficiently. BTW, sophiezhong,I think ur should give ur gurl a bit of time and try not 2 rush her.At least give her 1~2 yrs.And u'll see her improve,really.personally,she'll get used 2 the life in here after 2 yrz.I've got a loota SERIOUSLY/FREAKING outgoin' friends who use spanish as their mother language,and funny thing isnce they switch their language to french or english,they become REALLY SHY.No kiddin here.in all cases,juss watch and she'll have her real outgoing side bak once she get used to her new life.U just make sure she makes some efforts.But dun push her too hard,LOL.U'll see as da time goes by.

I agree with you.Time is not the problem,I think it depends on the people's attitude.If you really want to learn English,there is no time problem.Time sometimes becomes an excuse to (I am not sure to use "to" or "for"?) lazy people.

I always want to talk and ask, shit..all of my Chinese friends think I am.. like an idiot.

uhh, as if I was the only idiot in the class. I don't think they are any better than me.
Actually, my English is way far better than them.
But I still have better connection with my Chinese friends.

I have been in Australia for 5 months now, I really don't care of losing face stuff. Frankly I am not afraid of losing face among Aussies but Chinese. when there are no Chinese I can speak up, but once with my Chinses friends, it all fails miserably.

I really pity your friend Maggie..cuz she gets such a good friend.. you know what.. I am in AUS high school and the teachers are like meanie, I hate them. But I still have to act like beggar and show respect,in return for English.. I am a wimp, I always think like that.
