The only benefit I see, compared with the regular membership, is 2% rebate on all purchase in Costco (as opposed to the escalating rebate programs) as well as 2% rebate on any spending made with your AMEX card. That's so far the best rebate program among all creaditcard. PC's points Mastercard is only around 1%.

So you can do the math to see if it is worth the $50 extra annually.

Annual rebate less than $50 means the total eligible spending is less than $2500. Suppose you don't use the AMEX for any other things (like electronics, furniture or airtickets), only shop in Costco, that works out to be roughly $200 monthly.

What I hate about Costco is, I usually go with a shopping list, and end up spending much more than budgeted.

Sigh, I am a materialized little woman after all.
