[问题] 急:请问如何从电脑上通过 internet 发传真？在线等

急需要发一些传真。我听说如果在电脑上庄一些软件可以从电脑上直接发传真。请问论坛里有人这样做过吗？具体要怎么操作。什么样的软件可以这样做。

1. 普通方式: Modem 连电话网, 可用Winfax发传真,也就是省个传真机.
2. Internet: 想通过IP (internet) 方式, 得先找个IP-Phone 服务商, 它得有internet 连到你的目标电话网, 然后再找个在线传真软件. 挺麻烦的!

我们常用

首先得用拨号上网，宽带不行。第二在打印机设置里得有传真功能，具体装的什么软件得问我先生。最后在网络连接里设置拨号顺序：拨号上网的电话号码＋目的地区号＋传真号。如果是长途，还得加上长途电话卡那一套拨号程序。不复杂。

十有八九你是用Bell的phone service 发出去了, 长途的话, 注意查看下月帐单吧.

我用的CABLE上网，怎样才能传真呢？
我新加了56K的调制解调器，但是却没效果，不知道中间那个环节出了问题，是因为没有拨号上网吗？
是不是MODEM和CABLE都用COM1出口导致MODEM被档住了？
请教各位了。

Cable doesn't use COM port; it connects to the ethernet or USB port of your computer. I think it's already pretty clear what your options are:
A. Send the fax through the Internet by using a paid service, such as efax, myfax, or net2phone. It doesn't matter how the computer connects to the Internet.
B. Use your Modem as a fax machine and send it through the phone line. This may incur a long distance charge.

depin: please check "modem"'s property from "control panel" to see if a driver was installed correctly; if yes, you need to test the modem by dialing a regular phone number to see what will happen. At last, install a winfax software to test faxing. anyway, this approach is to send fax through phone line.

For me, I took a picture of the file using a digital camera; then send the file by email.
